Programme Development

Overview

The Programme Development Unit (PDU) within the Department of Climate Change develops bankable mitigation and adaptation projects and high-quality project proposals aligned with national priorities to secure climate finance and strengthen national climate resilience.

Role of the Programme Development Unit (PDU)

PDU ensures proposals meet donor criteria, including bilateral funders (e.g., DFAT, MFAT) and multilateral funders (e.g., Adaptation Fund, Green Climate Fund, Global Environment Facility).

Strategic Alignment

The Unit supports the implementation of Fiji’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and National Adaptation Plan (NAP) by leveraging climate finance opportunities through these projects and proposals.
