Β The Republic Of Fiji Navy is marking its 51st Anniversary by giving back to the community through a coastal clean-up campaign, reinforcing that protecting Fiji includes protecting its environment.Minister for Environment and Climate Change Hon. Lynda Tabuya today handed over clean-up supplies, including sacks, hand gloves and hand sanitisers, donated by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to support the initiative.
The clean-up will cover the Suva foreshore from the Suva Bowling Club along the Nasese seawall to Suva Point Park.
Hon. Tabuya commended the Fiji Navy for leading by example.
βA clean-up campaign is not simply about picking up rubbish. It is about civic pride. It is about respect for the place we call home and the health of our fragile environment.β
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change wishes the Republic of Fiji Navy a happy 51st Anniversary and thanks its officers for their continued commitment to protecting Fijiβs ocean through service and leadership.
