The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC) acknowledges the Manoca community in Nausori for taking the initiative to keep their surroundings clean and setting an example of community responsibility towards the environment.
Today (14.08.26), the Ministry handed over recyclable bags and hand gloves to support the community’s clean-up campaign, with MECC staff joining residents in picking up rubbish from around the community. 
The clean-up brought together parents and children, with families putting on their gloves and working side by side to clean their surroundings.
MECC commends the Manoca community for reaching out to the Ministry and, more importantly, for taking action themselves to create a cleaner and healthier place to live. 
Every action to protect our environment matters. While community clean-ups make a difference, lasting change comes when everyone takes civic pride in their surroundings, disposes of rubbish responsibly and chooses not to litter.
A cleaner Fiji begins with each of us doing the right thing.
