Preparations are intensifying for Fiji’s hosting of Pre-COP31, with the organizing teams meeting to discuss the programme and logistical arrangements for government delegates, observers and other stakeholders.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong collaboration between Fiji, Australia and Tuvalu in delivering a Pacific-led Pre-COP that places the priorities and experiences of Pacific Island countries at the centre of global climate discussions.
Fiji will host the Pre-COP meeting in Nadi from 5–8 October 2026, with a Leaders’ component to be held in Tuvalu on 5-6th of October. Coordination between the three partners continues, with further meetings scheduled in the coming weeks.
Pre-COP31 will build momentum and shape discussions ahead of COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye, from 9–20 November 2026.
