“Protecting Fiji’s oceans is a shared responsibility. When Government, businesses and communities work together, we create lasting solutions that safeguard our environment for future generations.”
This was the message from the Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Lynda Tabuya, as she handed over recyclable bags from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to support the 2026 Suzuki Clean Ocean Campaign along Queen Elizabeth Drive today (08.08.26). 
The Minister commended Suzuki Fiji and Niranjans Fiji for their continued commitment to environmental stewardship, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships between Government and the corporate sector in tackling marine litter and plastic pollution. 
Hon. Tabuya said while clean-up campaigns help remove waste from Fiji’s coastlines, lasting change depends on preventing waste from entering the environment through responsible waste management, recycling and behavioural change.
Staff from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change also joined Suzuki Fiji, Niranjans Fiji and community members in the coastal clean-up, demonstrating the Ministry’s commitment to protecting Fiji’s marine environment through action and collaboration. 
The Ministry values its continued partnership with the private sector and communities in advancing practical solutions that keep Fiji’s oceans clean, protect biodiversity and support a healthier and more resilient future for all.
