The Ministry applauds the contestants vying for the 2026 Bula Festival Crown for taking time out to clean the Wailoaloa Beach coastline and demonstrate their commitment to protecting Fiji’s environment.
Their efforts send a strong message that caring for our beaches means caring for our oceans, as litter left behind eventually finds its way into the sea, harming marine life and coastal ecosystems.
Minister for Environment and Climate Change Hon. Lynda Tabuya commended the contestants for leading by example.
“The greatest clean-up campaign is preventing litter in the first place. Let’s break the culture of littering, take pride in our surroundings and simply do the right thing.”
While the Ministry welcomes community clean-ups, lasting change will only come when every Fijian takes responsibility for disposing of rubbish properly.
