As Fiji prepares to host Pre-COP31, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change continues to strengthen engagement with stakeholders to ensure Pacific priorities, experiences and solutions are strongly represented in the discussions leading to COP31.
Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Lynda Tabuya, and Permanent Secretary Dr Sivendra Michael met with representatives of DIVA for Equality FIJI in Suva today as part of ongoing engagement ahead of Pre-COP31.
Discussions focused on Fiji’s preparations for Pre-COP31 and the importance of creating space for diverse Pacific voices and lived experiences to contribute to the climate discussions in Fiji and carry these priorities forward to COP31.
The meeting also discussed DIVA for Equality’s perspectives and priorities, including the Pacific Feminists’ 17 Urgent Demands, as part of the wider stakeholder engagement around climate action in the Pacific.
As preparations continue to progress, the Ministry continues to work with stakeholders and partners to ensure Pre-COP31 provides a strong platform for Pacific climate priorities and solutions to be heard and elevated on the global stage.
